We are now set up to restock your old pieces. Restocking a piece starts at $350 for pistols and goes up from there based on what you need. We typically use cherry for pistol stocks and walnut for carbines or muskets. All stock work is done by hand from a blank piece of wood so each piece is custom made. I will restock the old schroeter kits but cannot gaurantee lock functionality as we have found that these locks can fail at any time. The picture to the right shows a restocked Italian Schroeter kit using a german style stock pattern circa 1580-1620. Also, we have found that the schroeter locks are a little big for pistols. They are a much better fit for carbines or muskets. Our current choice for wheellock mechanisms is the Albion Small Arms lock. It is a well made lock that functions well.
The following picture shows the Schroeter Italian Lock and the Albion
Small Arms pistol lock. The Albion lock is on the bottom just above a
ruler.
We wil also complete kits from The Rifle Shop. The only locks we will
complete are the matchlocks. Starting price for completing pistol kits is
$300. Suggested types include the English snaphaunce pistol (#624), the
ECW era pistol (#625) or the doglock pistol (#627). Starting price on
completing rifle or carbine kits is $400. Suggested kits include the
matchlock caliver (#527), the early matchlock musket in right or left hand
(#528/#681), the Scottish musket (#665) the English snaphaunce musket
(#579) or the doglock musket (#607). You may view the kits including some
